We will need you to provide us with photographic identification at the start of your chosen course, as per our Awarding Body requirements. We also require you to bring a face covering with you, this is required at several points throughout your qualifications, helping to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Covid-19.
You may wish to bring a notebook with you, if you wish to make notes, and if you are attending a whole day duration course, you are advised to bring a packed lunch with you as not all venues have shops nearby.
The Training Fox will provide you with a comprehensive training pack at the start of your course, including but not limited to:
Bandages (if you are attending a First Aid course),
30ml Anti-bacterial hand sanitiser.
Learners must be 14 years old or older on the first day of the training, unless otherwise stated.
We are advised by our Awarding Body that learners should have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
Due to the practical nature of first aid, learners are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear e.g. trousers and flat footwear.
The Training Fox fully meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
The EYFS First Aid Requirements are listed and explained in appendix A of the 2017 version of the framework,

To help you assess your first aid requirements, we have provided you with a first aid needs calculator available on our first aid website page.
Alternatively you can access our First Aid Needs calculator by clicking on the following link:
Once you have completed the calculator you will be provided with a report, a copy of which is sent to us, we can then contact you to discuss your needs.
Our courses come with a certificate as standard, excluding our First aid for parents and First aid for Brownies courses however, certificates can be arranged at time of booking.
Each certificate that we provide has a different period of validity
The length of the certificate’s validity can be found in the certificate section of each course description throughout this site.
The expiry date is clearly printed on all our certificates
You should renew your First aid certificate before your certificate expires
The best time to do this would be within 1 month either side of the expiry date.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) states:
‘Employers and learners should be aware that there is an increased risk of failing to meet the required standard if previous certification has expired by a considerable period, typically 1 month, if this is the case it may be prudent to complete a three day course.’
We can provide a replacement however there will be a fee for this service, currently the fee is £5.50.
The syllabus of the First aid at Work qualifications are the same across the country and therefore can be used with any training provider to complete the First aid at Work Re-Qualification.
We will just need to see your existing certificate and photographic identification at the start of your course as per our Awarding Body requirements.
The Training Commitment is a legal requirement of our Awarding Body, Qualsafe Awards, that must be displayed on all our courses.
It informs you of your rights as a learner on our courses as well as what to do should you have complaint about the course.
For your ease we have provided you with a copy here.
Our Awarding Body sets out in line with the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (Sept 2013) the maximum timelines that your First Aid course should be completed within.
You can view these standards here.
On the 1st of October 2015, OfQUAL replaced the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) with the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
The RQF gives Awarding Bodies like ours, Qualsafe Awards and Highfield Qualifications, greater freedom to design qualifications and assessments that work best for learners, it is a tool designed to help people better understand regulated qualifications and how they relate to each other in terms of difficulty and size.
All qualifications will have a level attached to them from Entry Level 1 to 3 and Level 1 to 8, they will also have a Total Qualification Time (TQT) and Guided Learner Hours (GLH).
All of our qualification descriptions on this website show the GLH clearly in the Qualification Contact Teaching Hours section. Your accredited qualification certificate clearly states the level of your course!
