FIRE SAFETY

Fire Safety Courses

Each year fire and the effects of fire cause substantial loss and extensive damage to property.

2019 Statistics

In 2019 Fire and Rescue services attended 163,039 fires in the UK, although this is a decrease of 10% from the previous year, this is not a statistic to take lightly. Sadly, there was 1 additional death in 2019 compared to 2018 due to fire, bringing the total of deaths to 252.

Fire

In order to understand a fire, it is important to understand the combustion process. In order for a fire to set and take hold it requires three things:

  • Heat,
  • Fuel, and
  • Oxygen.

These 3 things together are referred to as the fire triangle, we will explore this more on our courses.

Fire Safety

In 2005, the law surrounding fire safety changed, with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 gaining royal assent. This order replaced more than 70 separate laws on fire legislation in England and Wales. This law is more commonly referred to as the Fire Safety Order (FSO).

Fire Safety Training

Our fire safety qualifications are Ofqual regulated and accredited by our Awarding Body, Qualsafe Awards. Although our courses are theory-based, we are able to add onto these the opportunity for you and your fellow learners to experience extinguishing a fire with a fire extinguisher.

Remember: You should only fight a fire if you are competent and have been trained to do so, using the correct extinguisher for fire type, and you should never use more than 1 extinguisher! If a fire requires more than 1 extinguisher it is too big for a lay responder to deal with and should be left to the Fire and Rescue Service!

Below you are able to view details of our fire safety qualifications. Ready to book? Get in touch now either using our Contact Us form or the telephone number at the top of the page.

Fire Safety

All our courses are taught using our FIRST principles.

Our philosophy revolves around ensuring that you have a fun experience on your course; research has shown that if you learn in a light-hearted way, regardless of subject, the more information that is retained.

No more will you be sat in a training course watching the clock tick round wishing it was home time.
